Contrebande
Facts about the brand
Contrebande… or a rum that represents an iconic period in history. It is a traditional rum produced, aged and bottled in Guadeloupe by an independent bottler. Guadeloupe is a paradisiacal French island on the shores of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, world famous for its rum production – both agricultural and traditional. Contrebande is a rum of great aromatic complexity. The art of the rum maker is expressed in their selection of the very best casks, then by a unique process known as “rassissement” or resting time.
It takes its name from one of the most well-known historic trails in Guadeloupe: “La Trace des Contrebandiers” (The Smugglers’ Path). The rum is bottled just a few steps away from this path, a path that holds the secrets of the past. Embark on an adventure!
