Akashi
About the distillery
In 1984 the White Oak Distillery was founded officially in the Japanese town Akashi. The whisky production was a premiere for Japan and thanks to the growing demand they could produce special types of whisky. The knowledge and use of old techniques allows them to create unique products.
The brand Akashi
Akashi has launched a new range of complementary artisanal whiskies—two blended whiskies and five single malts. Each single malt has a distinctive flavour, the result of being finished in different types of much sought-after casks.
In this collection Akashi condenses the full expertise of a generation of local artisans, experts in crafting traditional eaux-de-vie.
Akashi Blend
This Japanese Blended Whisky is the official whisky of White Oak distillery. Fresh and fruity aromas are characteristic for this typical japanese blend, which is made with one third malted barley. Aged in american oak barrels the taste is described with spices, vanilla and oak aromas.
Akashi Meïsei
This wonderful clear, delicate Japanese Whisky Blend is called Meïsei, which means celebrity. This product is a special edition containing 45% malted barley and is aged in american oak casks. A fine Whisky with the smell and taste of oak, spices and vanilla.
Akashi Single Malt
Rigorously selected ingredients are typical for this Japanese Single Malt Whisky. The product is influenced by a climate with extreme variations in temperature which can be tasted in the high aromatic intensity. The main ingredient is 100% Scottish barley, aged for two years in sherry casks and three years in bourbon casks. Neither chill filtered nor coloured.
