DISTILLERIA ANDREA DA PONTE
A FAMILY HISTORY SINCE 1892
The passion and dedication of five men has given an unadulterated essence to a sublime product over the years. In 1892 Andrea founded the Distillery in Conegliano. In 1896 Matteo published the first scientifically documented Distillation Manual, which contained his Method. Pietro united the Da Ponte and Fabris families, filling them with love for art and culture. In the early 1950s Pier Liberale created the first single-varietal grappa made from Prosecco pomace. Meanwhile, Francesco has shown determination to preserve the long-established, close bonds that have always existed between the distillery and nature, tradition, and cutting-edge technology.
The Da Ponte Method
In 1896 the “Distillation Manual” was published. It was the first scientifically documented manual dedicated to the art and techniques of distillation. Inside were the first illustrations of the stills and the first alcohol vapour condensation columns that were produced to refine and add a more sophisticated touch to a spirit. Ever since the publishing of the manual, the Da Ponte Distillery has followed these rules in order to breathe life into products that are quite simply sublime.
Unica Da Ponte
Our vintage-dated Grappa di Prosecco, aged for 10 years, is made from Prosecco Superiore DOCG grapes. DOCG stands for “Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita” and represents the state-controlled designation of origin for Italian wines. Appearing an amber-flecked gold-yellow, it boasts a multi-faceted bouquet offering hints of liqueurs and floral impressions enriched with nuances of seasoned oak and well-toasted almonds. The palate, dry, velvet-smooth, and very seductive, is subtly redolent of aromatic honey and vanilla.
Vecchia Grappa di Prosecco
The most traditional expression of the Da Ponte distillation method, Vecchia Grappa di Prosecco is the fruit of a selection of the finest lots of Glera variety pomace that go to produce Prosecco Superiore DOCG. Ageing in French Limousin-area oak gives this spirit its gold-yellow hue, which enhances its luminous clarity.
Uve Bianche
Luminous and pure to the eye, it boasts an inebriating bouquet of clean-edged summer fruit–apricot, pear, apple, and melon–and well-ripened grapes. Thanks to the single-batch bain-marie pot-still method exclusive to Da Ponte, the aromatic essences emerge unusually clean and sharply-delineated.
Amaro 33
Finest aged Grappa di Prosecco meets the delicate spicy notes of ginger, giving to the traditional grappa an exotic and persuasive note. Thanks the fresh and appealing hints of this ancient root, Amaro33 involves the palate in an exciting sensory journey. First you will have a full and delightful impact followed by a velvety and very original aftertaste.
