THE COMPANY

The history of “Domenis 1898” from Friuli goes back, as the name already indicates, to the year 1898. A gift of a distilling flask encouraged Pietro Domenis to try his hand at making spirits. He managed to do this with great success. The fourth generation is now actively involved in the design of the family business and its products. Therefore the slogan “crystal clear tradition” fits very well. Once the foundation for the company has been laid, processes and quality have been gradually optimised and new sales markets have been developed. More than 120 years of experience, creativity and innovation contribute to the high-quality spirits, which range from grappa to gin and liqueurs.

GRAPPA VARIETIES AT A GLANCE

The product range of Grappas stretches from traditional products such as Tradizione 40° Invecchiata to Blanc e Neri di Domenis Grappa in the most diverse variations. The fresh pomace is obtained directly from selected local wine growers. These grappas are produced using a discontinuous distillation process in eight copper boilers.

BLANC E NERI DI DOMENIS GRAPPAS

The classic Blanc e Neri di Domenis Grappa Cabernet from fresh Cabernet marc is a clear and balanced spirit. It is perfectly suited for the pleasurable conclusion of a meal.
Moscato, made from the famous Muscat grape, is a representative of delicate grappa. It is distilled at low temperature to preserve the fine aromas in the final product.
The pomace of the traditional Refosco grape variety is distilled with direct steam after controlled storage. The Blanc e Neri di Domenis Refosco is a crystal clear, fragrant, elegant grappa with a persistent finish.
The Blanc e Neri di Domenis Ribolla Gialla impresses with its pronounced and multi-layered bouquet. This grappa from Ribolla Gialla marc is matured for at least one year in stainless steel tanks.
As a cuvee of 18-year-old grappas, the Blanc e Neri di Domenis Riserva Grappa, is also part of the Domenis 1898 range. The amber colour is obtained by ageing in oak barrels.
The Blanc e Neri di Domenis, made from fresh grape marc of the Sauvignon grape variety, also contains fruity parts, which are optimally preserved by cold filtration. A clear grappa with a long-lasting taste that is excellent as a digestif.
The taste of Blanc e Neri di Domenis Schioppettino Grappa appeals to all those who value traditional and spicy flavours. Also the long lasting, balanced taste speaks for the grape marc spirit from red grapes.

FUTURA 36

The 1898 Futura 36 Grappa is made from mixed marc of red and white grapes. After distillation, Futura 36 is aged in oak barrels for 18 months. This lends to its classic amber colour and the variety in fragrance and taste. For all those who appreciate quality and a continuous alcohol balance, just the right thing.

GIN

A selected blend of 19 different botanicals, including macerated berries, citrus fruits and essential oils, are represented in Domenis 1898 Geometry Cividat Gin. The foundation for this is a grain distillate. This makes the gin ideal for pure enjoyment or for mixing.
Another gin from Domenis 1898 is the Trittico DOT Gin: intensive juniper taste, a hint of bergamot, citrus fruits and a balanced spice mixture await the gin lovers.

LIQUEUR

Also worth mentioning is the Domenis 1898 liqueur collection, which includes high-quality liqueurs made from amaro, sambuca, herbs, bergamot and hemp seeds.
The Trittico Bergamot is characterized by its typical bergamot aroma, which is obtained to 100% from the skin of bergamot. This high-quality spirit is complemented by a refreshing aroma and a pleasantly fruity sweetness.
Queen Mary is a bitter liqueur made from selected Sativa hemp seeds. Twenty other plant extracts such as rhubarb, ginger and juniper round off the product and emphasise the typical smell of hemp.
