In the middle of the Indian Ocean, the island of Mauritius is a paradise for sugarcane. Planted in fertile, clayey and volcanic soil, sugarcane has been the raw material for rum production since the 19th century. Like its idyllic surroundings, Mauritian rum is fresh and enchanting, evoking the delights of this tropical paradise where the lifestyle is as easygoing as the rum.
Cañaoak is an invitation to discover the rum culture and their rum-making traditions. Producers have chosen to blend rum from Mauritius with rums from Nicaragua and Panama. Unity is strength – the warmth of spices, the sweetness of honey and the richness of tropical fruits all contribute to making this fusion a real masterpice. Produced using both traditional and innovative techniques, this rum has exceptional texture and character, and a warm, elegant finish.
Caña Oak Gold Rum
This is a pure blended rum, which contains up to 8 years old rums. 80% of this are from the island of Mauritius aged in American and European oak casks that are either new or have been previously used to store rum or wine. 15% are from Nicaragua and 5% from Panama, aged in bourbon casks. Persistance and flavours of exotic fruit and sugarcane flowers come mainly from the Panama rum which is naturally sweet.
